Description

The present work discussed the different water production techniques that used to overcome physical water scarcity problem. A new water production technique called "Water Recovery from Atmospheric Air" is introduced as an innovative solution. This system depends on extraction of water vapor from atmospheric air by using wet desiccant material during night time then evaporates the absorbed water during the day time by solar energy and the evaporated water condensate on the solar collector sides. In order to investigate the system performance, a new mathematical model is introduced. The new model presents 15% improvement in theoretical results compared with other published models. The work aims to evaluate the effect of different operation conditions on the system performance characteristics. Moreover, the model investigates the system performance in different Egyptian weather conditions. The total produced water from the system in spring is about 3.11 lit/day.m2 and 3.02 lit/day.m2 in Cairo and Alexandria, respectively. The book should be useful for the researcher in water and energy problems. Finally, it could be significant for any reader in green energy field.
