Description

A story of loyalty and the "deepest kind of love", between Billy Colman and his beloved dogs. Billy wanted hunt dogs so much he referred to it as "dog wanting disease". However, he was from a poor family without extra money to spend. Through determination and hard work, he is able to save money to get two pups, Little Ann and Old Dan. Together the trio becomes inseparable and becomes known in the Ozark foothills to be the finest hunting team in the valley. Glory and victory were coming to them, but sadness waited too. Close by was the strange and wonderful power that's only found when he sees "the red fern grow".

A novel by Wilson Rawls.
