"Livin La Vida Loca" Ricky Martin.
Based in Queensland, Australia. My sixth book and third nonfiction book, after initially writing two fiction novels.
I wrote "Wine, Travel & Romance" based on my personal experiences with some of the gorgeous, sensuous, romantic ladies I met whilst working internationally. This happened over a period of twelve years, post-divorce. Previously I had been married for 22 years until my amicable divorce in 2009. My intent was not to meet anyone. I certainly did not have preconceived ideas of meeting ladies throughout my travels. I wanted to travel and work internationally.
I intentionally left out dates so as not to timeline any of these events. The events are not in chronological order but do take place within the aforementioned period.
Some of the places I travelled to: Dubai, USA, Canada, Turkey, China, Mongolia, South Korea, Germany, Hong Kong, Fiji, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, East Timor, Iraq, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand along with many others.
I believe my inspiration for writing this book was when I was watching a YouTube vlog. It was a husband and wife discussing how they meet, first date, first kiss, marriage etc. The wife whose name was Katie reminded me a lot of a former lover of mine. The mannerisms were glaringly similar. Something triggered within me to sit down at the computer and start writing. So here is my story. I do not cover all of my acquaintances, but I have outlined a number of them in this book.
I have used pseudonyms so as not to embarrass anyone or reveal there true identities. I have purposely left out certain details which are private and shall remain etched in wonderful memories. I have added some anecdotal lines from past situations. At the end of each chapter, I insert a famous quote on love which I`ll add in italics.
I dedicate this book to all those wonderful ladies to whom I was so fortunate to meet and share a part of my life with. They were full of fun, joy, and kindness. They were gentle and always well meaning. We all remain dear friends.
From dining out, shopping, travelling, and those memorable romantic moments where no words were needed. Just a gaze and a smile spoke a thousand words.
Love is such a strange feeling to have. How does it really work? Love at first sight. Love after a week of knowing each other, love forever. It's a blessing that we can experience such a wonderful gift that manifests itself in so many ways.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this book as much as I did writing it. To all those people that are falling in love around the world I tip my hat to you and wish you God speed.
