Personal identity is so important in each persons life, because what we think we are affects what we do, how we do it. It even affects the results of what we do. I believe that faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life. I used to quote that as a faithful member of the club Jaycees.(Junior Chambe of Commerce) but in practice I was doing it all on my own according to my set of values, and my values were pretty much dollar values. "If you make a lot of money, you can get rich and be famous" It wasn't so much about creature comforts as it was "fame and power". I think I can identify with a lot of people today in America! My title of the first part of my book "The Climb and Fall to Identity" was just that. I was really climbing. At 26 I had made a lot of money, was running two enterprises. But money and the love of it was eating me up. I was a workaholic. It was all about making money and getting bigger. But God in his mercy messed all of that up and started me out new. This is my story, but my hope is that many might identify in some way with what happened to me and to see the great possibilities of a new life in Christ: of really having purpose and meaning in their life. The miracles that I talk about in this book, I think, are just an example of what God can do and wants to do in the life of each of his children, not just the same as my experience but inique, exciting and great in the life of each of His children!.
