Mystics tend to neither discuss nor reveal the powers they are said to possess, if possess is the correct expression. The little that mystics do say is that the purpose of a spiritual training is not to attain special powers or worldly success, but to find God within oneself. Anything other than that is a diversion and doomed to failure.
Spiritual practices have only one purpose, to awaken human consciousness to its divine origins. If religious authorities and concerned scientists will ever join together peacefully and combine their energies into one great signature purpose, this is it.
The ultimate quest through the ages has always been to find God and realize our true nature. Almost always has this been an individual quest, a spiritual seeker relying on his or her own resources and instincts to forge a way through the tangled and overgrown depths of their own minds to embrace the bliss that lies within.
