Chester County was created in 1785 out of the Camden District. It is located in the northern portion of the satte just under the North Carolina State line. This volume contains a map of the original land grants on Rocky Creek in that county. Also, includes lists of deeds and probates recorded, tavern licenses, bastardy bonds cases (naming usually both parents), jury lists and several previously unknown marriage bonds. Many settlers from Virginia and Pennsylvania are found here as well as many Revolutionary War veterans.
