Description

Ren and Jack have known each other for over 2000 years. Every forty to fifty years or so, they are reborn, but if they become involved together they die.

In present day Everett Washington they meet again and, for the first time, they both remember the past lives. Ren is a bartender at a pool hall and lounge. Jack is from England and after searching for sixteen years, through a genealogy website finds a relation to Ren's family and is told they moved to America.

It is the first time in all their lives that they are both aware of the past. They begin to warm up, but know if they touch they'll die the next day.

An accident nearly kills Ren and she lays unconscious in the hospital. After her doctor tells Jack that she probably won't wake up, Jack finds a holistic healer who isn't big on Western Medicine on the internet and Dr. Findlay Hamler takes over her case. He discovers that in their very first life during Druid times, Ren and Jack were cursed by a demon named Bashear. The demon never allows their happiness to grow.

With the help of a wizardess, a witch, a shape-shifter, two monks and a troll, Ren and Jack form a plan to abolish Bashear and break the curse forever.

Can they hope that since they both remember, this time will be different?

Several characters from the Haller Lake series put in an appearance in this story.
