Many Christians have found themselves in very sad or troublesome situations. It seems as if the hardest thing to do is not to cry out and to feel the joy of the Lord. I have walked in despair and joy, and I can say that life can be so hard to handle without the presence of joy. To those that may be suffering or are currently suffering, you can make it through, the Lord can help, and with the proper strength of the Lord, even those that may be down or who have lost hope can still experience the joy.
When you are dealing with a mental illness, your relationship with God starts to get undermined. The truth is that your relationship with God is the most important in your life. If you ignore your anxiety or depression, you will never really feel peace or find lasting happiness. The Myth is that we are not living in God's presence. It tells us that our life is not under God's guidance and that there is nothing that we can do to bring peace and joy into our lives. One can feel unworthy, unable to trust, and vulnerable.
So, when you are dealing with anxiety or depression, you need to decide if you want to be authentic or if you want to cover it up.
