English summary: Following an introduction into Leibniz and his model metaphysics of possible worlds, Dirk Evers deals with the concepts of possibility and necessity in modern modal logic. The discussion on quantified modal predicate logic proves to be central to the objectives of the analytical philosophies of religion. By studying the semantics of W.V. Quine, D. Lewis, S. Kripke, A. Plantinga and others, the author identifies those concepts, options and problems which are crucial for any theory of the possible with reference to God. The last part of the book deals with these questions from a theological perspective. German description: Die Theologie hat ein eminentes Interesse an der Klarung des modallogischen und ontologischen Status ihrer Rede vom Moglichen, bekennt doch der christliche Glaube, dass inmitten des Wirklichen Moglichkeiten zu entdecken sind, die diesem von sich aus nicht erschliessbar sind. Dirk Evers unternimmt deshalb eine religionsphilosophische Klarung der einschlagigen Konzepte und Theorien, um das zu entwickeln und zu pflegen, was man einen dem christlichen Glauben eigenen Moglichkeitssinn nennen konnte. Seine Untersuchungen vollziehen sich in drei Schritten. Zuerst wird Leibniz' modallogisch konzipierte Metaphysik und speziell seine Theorie moglicher Welten in Erinnerung gerufen. Sodann werden die relevanten Modelle heutiger formaler Modallogik vorgestellt und deren syntaktische und semantische Grundlagen analysiert (W.V. Quine, D. Lewis, S. Kripke, A. Plantinga u.a.). Sowohl im ersten wie im zweiten Kapitel werden so die fur die Rede vom Moglichen entscheidenden Fragestellungen, Alternativen und Aporien herausgearbeitet. In einem dritten Schritt werden diese dann in theologischer Perspektive erortert.
