My entire life has been imperfectly perfect, even from the point of conception. I was fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, which is perfect and placed in the womb of a strong, kind black woman, who was imperfect by world standards but imperfectly perfect for me. I began writing this book after the transition of my mother. Though my desire to remember and honor her partially birthed the inspiration, this book has manifested from a deep and primal need to make sense of my journey, to see it more clearly. I will always cherish the last lesson that my mother taught me. She taught me to do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and to rest in the Lord as we transition to Him with truth and grace.
