History student Olivia is unlucky in love and fed up of being the butt of her crushes' jokes. With her finals looming and her mind elsewhere, it is a welcome surprise when her professor brings in an ancient artifact to impress the class. Olivia is immediately drawn to the beautiful sword, feeling a pull to it she cannot explain. After she touches it she finds herself being sucked into the ancient world of the highlanders, where she is rescued from an uncertain fate by the sexy and strong John Cameron, head of the Cameron Clan.
His castle is full of lies and deceit, and he fears for Olivia's safety as a war between a rival clan looms... John knows the only way to protect her is to make her his bride... but will they live happily ever after or will the differences between them be too much to bear?
