It treats the subject of science with due respect, and offers a suspenseful dive into a fantastical arc that is no less natural for its fiction. The story follows a family of three as they move into the suburbs, on property that appears to be an all but ideal purchase: it is big and it comes cheap. The minor anomalies around the location are not a subject of concern, and the events happening in the background are not something that can be known to most people. Things take a turn in an unexpected direction, and all three must face the challenges ahead if they are to see things through. Suspenseful and written for enthusiasts of classic science fiction, It Comes with the Territory aims to entertain, in as far as the reader enjoys mystery adventures, as well as to inspire thought, in as far as the reader is accustomed to thinking.

Things were coming apart – slowly, at first, but building up to a fate she was afraid to speculate in full. This was just the beginning. Like radiation, this was but hairloss and liverspots. Soon enough, it would be gashing sores and degloving and the detachment of the mandible. Civilization was a ghoul in the making.
