Description

This novel is a novel that begins with the ending of the Civil War and ends with the days following the end of the First World War. It begins and ends with the lives of three brave and honorable men of the 10th Cavalry known as the Buffalo Soldiers. Larry Davis, Rodney Dawson, and Curtiss Jones were all slaves that found meaning for their lives in the service to their country with the cavalry. Davis', Jones', and Dawson's stories intertwine with the lives of the Apaches, the events of the Spanish American War, and meeting with Theodore Roosevelt and the members of the Rough Riders Volunteers. The story of these three men furthers with the hunt for Pancho Villa in the Mexican Expedition and on into the Border War with Mexico. They enjoy the friendship and admiration for General John J. Black Jack Pershing lasts a lifetime. Their story is one of terrible hardships, discrimination, constant justification of their abilities and their right to serve equally.
