The purpose of this book is to reinforce to African American girls the color of their skin is beautiful. We want our girls to associate the color of their skin with things that are positive, and in this case, things that are sweet.

About the Authors:
Tameka Lewis and Lakeisha Sykes-Bell are aspiring writers of children's books. Mama's Brown Girls is the first of many children's books to hit the shelves. As sisters, Tameka and Lakeisha spend most of their time with each other, and with their daughters, Madison and Brooke.
