This is the report of a Workshop held in May 2010, convened to analyse the challenges and propose ways forward for the implementation of the International Guidelines for the Management of Deep-sea Fisheries in the High Seas. The report is divided in two parts. Part 1 provides the meeting summary and the main conclusions and recommendations with respect to general considerations, governance, support to developing countries, management issues, compliance and enforcement, vulnerable marine ecosystems (VMEs) and review and implementation processes. Part 2 contains the background documents.
