The city of Sacramento has evolved greatly over recent years and features two large universities, a thriving riverfront area with harbor, a number of notable museums, top restaurants, jazz nightspots, impressive theaters, more than 100 parks, scenic trails by the American River Parkway, and some striking architecture, including the magnificent California State Capitol Building. Tourism is widespread in Sacramento and the city's main tourist information office is the California Convention and Visitor's Bureau, which can be found on J Street. Home to a wealth of tourist information, including detailed glossy brochures, travel timetables, opening hours and admission charges, this bureau also offers the latest tourism and things to do in the city's main districts of North Sacramento, Old Sacramento, the Midtown district, the Capitol Area and the Victorian Houses district. Hotels in Sacramento are available to suit of budgets, including inexpensive motels and travel lodges, mid-range accommodation and a number of outstanding luxurious hotels. Concentrated around Arden Way, Auburn Boulevard, Front Street, J Street, L Street and along Madison Avenue, further hotels can be found nearby Sacramento International Airport (SMF), which is 12 miles / 19 km to the northwest of central Sacramento. Sacramento is home to numerous popular tourist attractions, including Sacramento Zoo containing a wealth of exotic animals and landscaped grounds; Spirit of Sacramento Riverboat Cruises regular cruises along the shoreline, with superb views of many major buildings; Sutter's Fort founded in 1839, with historic exhibits and information about this first Euro-American settlement; Fairytale Town a traditional amusement park, suitable for younger children; and McKinley Park a vast parkland located on the eastern side of Sacramento, offering a host of recreational activities and a fragrant rose garden.
