The issue of environmental problem is one of the factor why industry turn to natural fibres in producing a new type of products. One of the plants that is popular in Malaysia nowadays is sugar palm tree. This phenomenon is due to the multipurpose potential of sugar palm tree to produce a renewable energy in the form of biofuel. It can also produce a variety of by-products including foods and beverages, biopolymer and biocomposites. Thus, the vital alternative to solve the agriculture residues from sugar palm tree is to use it as reinforcement material in the development of polymer composites.
