Robert Whitfield, a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and an honors graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, practiced as a corporate lawyer with the Wall Street firm of Milbank Tweed Hadley and McCloy before entering the field of investment banking with Schroders Ltd, a leading merchant bank located in London. He subsequently served as Vice President of Schroder Capital Corporation in New York and General Counsel of First Pennsylvania Corporation, a major American bank holding company located in Philadelphia. In 1981 he organized Robert Whitfield Associates, Inc., a management consulting firm in the field of professional service organizations now located in Chicago.
Mr. Whitfield has published several books on the management and marketing of professional service organizations and numerous articles on those subjects in the National Law Journal and other professional publications. He has also been a serious fine arts photographer for many years who is currently planning to publish books of his photography of the architecture of Chicago and the ruins of Windsor Plantation, his family's antebellum home located in the state of Mississippi, now on the National Register of Historic Places.
