The Resilient Christian is written for those who remain committed to the Christian life by choosing to live it despite the temptations and distractions offered to them in an increasingly secular world. Resilience is not a character attribute that Christians either have or do not have. Resilience is an expression of their countenance, the thoughts, actions, reactions, and resolve that they must learn if they are to deal successfully with life's circumstances and adversities.
Christians grow in spiritual maturity as they identify and reject the distractions that can lure them back toward secularism. They develop resilience by praying and persisting through their difficulties while wholly trusting that their trials are part of God's purpose for them. If you find this hard to do, then count yourself among the many believers who struggle, yet grow resilient, so they remain committed to their lifelong Christian journey.
