The Star Namer and the Unchosen is the sequel to
Shepherd, Potter, Spy and the Star Namer.
In Aijalon Valley, an epic battle pitted the forces of a despicable king against the army that brought down the most powerful city of Canaan with a shout, literally. On battlefield clean-up duty, the seventeen-year-old son of the master potter rescues a wounded friend-- the expert archer of Jerusalem forced to serve in the tyrant's army. While Eskie helps his friend return home and rescues his father from the dungeon, he fights an inner battle between his father's faith and his own self-reliance. Along the way, he gathers an unlikely band of heroes including the son of a thief, a deaf sandal-maker and a lonely giant. And then there is Pickle Girl--a saucy young lady, named for a thorny bush that grows out of solid rock and whose pickled buds are a condiment for wild game. The fictional story of The Star Namer and the Unchosen suggests how the Jebusites took over Jerusalem and became the stronghold able to resist the efforts of both the men of Judah (Joshua 15:63) and the men of Benjamin (Judges 1:21).
