Sub-plots and a plethora of seemingly unrelated events mingle to build a tale of wartime Wales and one Welshman's search for his roots in it. In the end, Watkins must decide between simply knowing the truth or being able to prove it, whatever the cost. That quest continues almost up to the final page. The story is fiction, but chillingly close to what really happened.
