This is part of a multinational mission which entails comprehensive studies of the coldest areas in the world. Over eighty countries agreed to send scientific explorers in the study that would consist of numerous expeditions over a five year period. The four scientific explorers are flying over the Verkhoyansk Range in the Sakha Republic, Russia. A mountain range that forms part of the East Siberian Mountains. After admiring the beautiful view, something happens shortly afterwards that will put them in immediate danger and change their lives forever.
