Living in your truth doesn't have to be a high ideal, despite what it may seem like.
In essence, it involves being aware of your personal values and making decisions more in line with them than with social indoctrination. Living authentically demands precise self-knowledge. It becomes a part of you as you progress through the many stages of psychological development.
The goal of that progress is to bring your ego and soul into alignment. Naturally, nothing happens overnight. It is an ongoing journey.
However, you might already be catching glimpses of what it's like to be authentically you if you:
Instead of saying "I have to," use "I choose to";
Look for possibilities where you formerly saw threats;
Value your actions' processes over their results.
Being devoted to your core beliefs is the source of all this. You get closer to your truth when you put them ahead of your indoctrination.
You firmly establish yourself. Living in this manner eventually becomes your default.
