Her breath caught in her throat as her gaze traveled up the muscled limbs, naked and shimmering like gold in the moonlight. Ember's eyes widened at the nude, perfect body, saw the long, bright red hair swirling around the chiseled, flawless face. She knew without a doubt that a true fairy stood before her.
Her breath left her in a gasp of exhilarated fright. The lamp fell to the ground and its light dimmed in the snow, leaving them both illuminated by the moon and stars of the clear night sky.
The fairy extended a hand toward her face and stepped forward. His eyes were dark and hooded, moving over her with undisguised lust. Ember felt a flush color her skin as she pulled her coat tighter around her body. The fairy shook his head in disapproval. He moved fast and light over the snow and was on her in a flash. Strong arms wrapped around her and pulled her against an unnaturally hot chest. She gasped in surprise and instinctively pulled away, but the fairy growled like an animal and held her tighter.
Ember stared up into his entrancing face and into his liquid chocolate eyes. An eerie calm settled over her as she exhaled deeply. She began to fall into his embrace. His dark lips curled in a wicked smile of triumph. Her stomach flipped as if she was falling, the stars twinkled even brighter in her vision, and she realized somehow that he was lowering her down into the snow. A distant fear of the night chill nagged at the back of her mind, but she felt so warm in the fairy's presence that she ignored it. Ember knew something was wrong. Her mind reeled for an answer, but her body was responding too strongly to the hands moving over her, stripping away the armor of clothing. A hot mouth descended on hers and her eyes fluttered closed.
