This book is for couples who, like my wife and me, want to spice up their bedroom by reading aloud erotic short stories and acting them out before and during sex. The book began on note cards for our own role play and expanded to 104 stories, enough for two a week for a year, inspired by travel, reading, imagination and teaching a course on Boccaccio's Decameron. These stories will take you to steamy affairs in Iceland, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Israel. How about a woman realtor who will do anything to make a sale or a sales manager who rewards her top salesman with sex? Maybe your fantasies run to history and myth, like lust in a grotto in a French estate, or being Oleksandra, the goddess of young warriors? How about curing unrequited love, a crush that came to naught for a popular athlete in school? How about being a sex teacher, a Geisha, a porn star, a biker babe, a neighbor punished for being a peeping Tom? A speeder looking for a way to avoid a ticket? A desperate backpacker crying in the rain in Palermo?
The stories provide a rich variety, including the categories of Chance Encounters, Sports Encounters, Sports Encounters, Work Encounters, Domestic Travel, Overseas Sex, No Place Like Home, Travel in Time, Sex for Hire, Teaching Sex, Mythical Sex, Playing with Age, Nurse/Doctor, Police, Bikers and Biker Babes, Going Anal, Bondage and Spanking.
There are no rape of sexual assault stories;the hetero sex is consensual. Women often make the first move. Both men and women are prostitutes, sex teachers, in positions of power, etc. The tone is gender equality; women have their orgasms first, with how-to descriptions for the men to help ensure that happens.
Dialog enables you to get in character, and even talk dirty. Technique tips sprinkled through the stories and in an appendix will help you try new things. An appendix role plays a couple's therapy session on how to talk about and resolve differences in sexual desires and fantasies. A small bonus: poems, in different styles, about love, longing and lust.
Role play has brought my wife and me closer with the trust needed for mutual reveal of sexual longings and the spirit of giving to act them out for each other. And it has improved our relationship outside the bedroom. After all, if you can talk about sex, you can talk about anything.
