This English-Finnish bilingual catalogue invites readers to explore these fascinating interactions in Gallen-Kallela's artistic engagement with his country and its people, the Finnish national epic Kalevala, the idea of the Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) and the Nordic landscape.
