What is IOTA? In some forums and weblogs it can be read that IOTA wants to enable a backbone for the Internet of Things, but also that it wants to enable communication and exchanges between smart machines and devices. What is behind all this?
IOTA is primarily a protocol, a distributed application that enables all this. Its foundational technology is called Tangle, which is a distributed database, but not a Blockchain. It is surely inspired from cryptocurrencies, but enables different functions. Basically, it is another interpretation with another goal – IOTA is geared towards machines and wants to enable an exchange from machine-to-machine. There are plenty of books on Bitcoin, but not so many on IOTA, although it is an equally fascinating cryptocurrency and platform. That's why I wrote this book, to answer the following questions:
What is IOTA? How does IOTA work? How to purchase IOTA? What to contemplate when investing in IOTA? For what use cases can IOTA be used? How will IOTA develop in the next time?
