Taken from a 1500+ song and poem catalogue, each work presented here was chosen on the basis of it being a narrative work first, an emotionally-stirring one second; and with each of these applicable to any gender, and resonant to soul-mirrored readers.
"Some of these pieces are not always as strong as some of the more 'poetic' material left out, but that was not what was needed - the main thing is that, on their CV, they all contained the foresight of hindsight, and shone a light in midnight's shrouded face. Everything here was written with love as a driving force, be it love of justice, human beings, human decency, equality... even the more scathing ones had love as their starting point. I wished I could have stayed one step ahead of the Devil's grasp just a bit longer, to write some companions for them. But fate always has more aces than you ever will..." - Paul Murphy
