Composed in 1913 to a scenario for a Children's Ballet by André Hallé, the music existed only in a piano score and 93 measures of orchestration upon Debussy's death in 1918. His former student and faithful interpreter André Caplet completed the orchestration the next year for the long delayed performance at Paris' Theatre-Lyrique de Vaudeville on December 10, 1919. This new, convenient format study score is a digitally enhanced reprint of the one issued by Durand et Cie. in 1920. In contrast to so many of the on-demand scores now available, this one comes with all the pages and the images have been thoroughly checked to make sure it is actually readable. As with all PLP scores a percentage of each sale is donated to the amazing online archive of free music scores and recordings, IMSLP - Petrucci Music Library.
