Where cereal and beet fields meet the eye
A pretty little village lies,
Called home by some rats
As well as by some cats.
Fluffy, fuzzy, furry or hairy,
Be they Siamese, Angora or from the alley,
The whiskered ones, it is true, the street they may adore,
But slumbering in their dens, they cherish even more.
Gluttonous, they still go out occasionally,
To crunch one or two rats, out imprudently.
