« Marine and Freshwater Molluscs of the French Caribbean » is the first complete inventory of the malacological fauna from Guadeloupe, Martinique, St Marteen and St Barthelemy Islands. Richly illustrated with 5,739 photos and drawings, it is the result of more than 35 years of samplings and of the « Karubenthos 1 & 2 » expeditions organized by the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle of Paris and the National Park of Guadeloupe in May of 2012 and June of 2015, as well as the « Madibenthos » expedition organized by the Paris Museum with the help of the Water Office of Martinique, the Direction de la Mer, the Natural Regional Park of Martinique and the University Antilles Guyane.
This inventory gathers 2 292 species including 130 taxa newly described. All species have been reported from the French West Indian Islands of which 2 094 from Guadeloupe, 990 from Martinique, 247 from St Marteen and 218 from St Barthelemy.
