This is my true story of overcoming childhood trauma, depression, pain, and addiction. I am choosing to write about this as a form of self-guided therapy as I attempt to free myself from the pain of my past. I've never been able to tell this story to anyone. I've never had anyone who would listen or anyone who would care to hear these words. Beyond never having anyone to tell, my story had too much power over me, my actions, and my thoughts. I have always wanted to get past this trauma but I have never had a path forward or a workable solution. Although I am writing my story and sharing it here as a form of healing, I also hope that my story can help others. Perhaps my story may even help to avoid painful paths.
The world today is filled with discussion and debate which fundamentally focus on childhood development, sexual orientation and gender identity, and a host of related topics which are similar to my own lived experiences. I believe that by sharing my story here I can help shed some light onto these important matters and perhaps help to protect children through enlightening others. My only ambitions or desires here are to heal, to help, and to hopefully prevent the proliferation of abuse.
I hope that I am able to provide something meaningful to readers who may be suffering from the same or similar types of trauma to heal as well. That is my goal - healing.
My story is above all a story of survival and a cautionary note in an era where children have increasingly become a battleground in toxic culture wars. I hope that readers will learn from my experiences and recognize what should have been obvious: indoctrinating children with extreme ideological political views is damaging, hurtful, and wrong. Let me tell you my story and how I learned to heal after being subjected to anti-gay Conversion Therapy.
