Children often imagine inanimate objects have personalities, especially a beloved toy or blanket. It was exactly that sentiment that lead author S. Bell intended to create, a charmingly inventive story centered on a towel and his family. "I had the notion of selecting an item that would be familiar to children and recasting it in the role of friend," Bell says.
Towel Tales shares the story of Tony Towel and his family. Adopting a sweet and gentle tone directed at toddlers and young children, Tony shares his adventures while living with the Miller family. A day at the pool particularly got Tony's interest. Interspersed in the dialogue, Bell seeks to offer teachable moments for little ones. She says, "My hope is the story will captivate the imaginations of little ones and the adults who are reading it to them."
